Question 1

What is a capstone project?

Accepted Answer

A capstone is a final, hands-on project that asks you to apply everything you’ve learned to a realistic scenario. This one teaches no new skills; it gives you the chance to prove the skills you’ve built across the program.

Question 2

Do I need to build my own environment?

Accepted Answer

No. You’ll start from a pre-provisioned starter environment that simulates IBM Cloud, so you can focus on configuring, operating, and troubleshooting it rather than building it from scratch.

Question 3

What will I have to show employers?

Accepted Answer

You’ll finish with an Operations Handoff Pack that includes an architecture diagram, a configuration and access summary, monitoring and automation evidence, and a troubleshooting runbook. It works as a portfolio piece you can share in job applications and interviews.

Question 4

How is my work evaluated?

Accepted Answer

Your work is assessed with one rubric across four dimensions: configuration correctness, sound operational practice, quality of automation and monitoring, and clarity of documentation.

Question 5

Will completing the capstone guarantee me a job?

Accepted Answer

No course can guarantee employment. A documented, end-to-end project gives you concrete evidence of your skills, which can strengthen your applications alongside your certificate.

Question 6

Can I take the capstone without completing the earlier courses?

Accepted Answer

We strongly recommend completing Courses 1 through 6 first. The capstone assumes hands-on skill with Linux, Windows, IBM Cloud, monitoring, and scripting, and it does not reteach those topics.

Question 7

When will I have access to the lectures and assignments?

Accepted Answer

To access course materials, assignments, and earn a Certificate, you'll need to purchase the Certificate experience when you enroll in a course. Eligible learners may also have the option to start with a Free Trial. Some courses may also offer a Full Course, No Certificate option. This lets you access course materials, submit required assessments, and receive a final grade, but you won't be able to earn or purchase a Certificate.

Question 8

What will I get if I subscribe to this Certificate?

Accepted Answer

When you enroll in the course, you get access to all of the courses in the Certificate, and you earn a certificate when you complete the work. Your electronic Certificate will be added to your Accomplishments page - from there, you can print your Certificate or add it to your LinkedIn profile.
