This module begins with an introduction outlining the objectives, structure, assessments and materials, including a welcome video and an essential guide for participants, culminating in an initial survey. Next, and starting with the course content, the relevance of agriculture in the economic development of Latin America and the Caribbean will be explored. Subsequently, the AgriTech industry will be deepened, analyzing its different categories, characteristics and evolution in the region. To achieve this, sources will be used to contextualize the agricultural industry in the region and define precisely what AgriTech is and how it impacts Latin America and the Caribbean. During this process, concepts such as precision agriculture, crops with biotechnology, traceability strategies in the industry, and relevant success stories will be studied.

Throughout this process, we’ll assess the impact of these challenges while highlighting opportunities that could enhance efficiency, boost productivity, and create a positive environmental impact.

In this module, we will explore different perspectives on the AgrifoodTech sector by examining the various stakeholders identified in previous modules. First, we will analyze the perspectives of the leading countries in Latin America and the Caribbean: Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and Mexico. Next, we will take a deeper look at the AgriTech subcategories to better understand their role in the region. Finally, we will examine the corporate perspective on the AgrifoodTech industry and the benefits they gain by integrating into the Latin American and Caribbean ecosystem. Using a self-assessment tool, you will be able to determine your level of digital maturity in the AgriTech sector.
