This Specialization is intended for undergraduate and graduate students in the fields of business, management, and engineering seeking to learn optimization techniques and applications. Through four courses, we will cover mathematical programming, concepts of optimization algorithms, systematic ways to evaluate a solution, and mathematical foundations and theories. All of these will prepare you to formulate real-world optimization problems into rigorous mathematical programs and develop solutions for them.
Applied Learning Project
Learners will identify a real-world optimization problem that are appropriate to be tackled by Operations Research (OR), precisely describe it through mathematical programming, develop solution approaches to solve the problem, and rigorously evaluate the effectiveness of the solution. Moreover, learners will present the process and outcome of the OR study.
