In this Specialization, learners obtained essential skills that enabled them to interface between Excel spreadsheets and the VBA programming environment.  Learners acquired basic programming knowledge that can be adapted to a wide variety of programming languages.  Spreadsheets are oriented around data arrays, and learners perfected techniques aimed at manipulating and analyzing these arrays.  Other tools that learners are proficient with having completed this course include user-defined functions, string functions, iterating through worksheets and workbooks, and creating user forms to professionally interface with users.  All of these topics were solidified through a capstone design course, in which learners completed several open-ended projects to real-world problems.
