Students may transfer up to six credits to be applied toward fulfilling requirements for a graduate degree from the University of Utah, provided the following criteria are met:
The student must be formally admitted to a graduate program of study Transferred courses must be 5000 level courses or higher and related to the student’s program of study Graduate credit may only be transferred from other regionally accredited institutions Credits transferred from another institution may be used for only one degree at the University of Utah Students must have received a letter grade of “B” or higher in the relevant courses (“Credit only” grades will not be accepted)

Yes, you can take a hybrid of online, IVC, and on-campus classes. However, there are significant differences in tuition and fees for traditional classes depending on the course modality.
Under unique circumstances, exceptions have been made and applicants with a lower GPA of 3.2 have been conditionally accepted into the program. In these cases to be fully accepted in the MS online program, students have been required to earn at least a 3.3 GPA in their first semester of conditional enrollment. These exceptions have been very rare and up to the discretion of the graduate committee.
To be admitted to the graduate program, all applicants must submit GRE scores, unless you received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah in Electrical and Computer Engineering or an ABET-accredited engineering program. If you completed a B.S. in the Utah ECE program, talk to your admissions counselor about obtaining a GRE waiver.
