Discover how to build a skills-based organization that keeps pace with a shifting workforce and a competitive market. In this course, you'll learn to define workplace skills, distinguish between I-shaped and T-shaped employees, and clarify the difference between upskilling and reskilling so you can choose the right strategy for your team.

You'll then explore how to assess your organization's and employees' current skill levels, evaluate the technology available to support that process, and identify sources of bias that can skew your results. From there, you'll build the skills you've identified, whether by bringing in outside experts, tapping into talent already on your team, or creating development plans and a learning culture that fit into the normal flow of work. Finally, you'll examine how a skills strategy reshapes hiring, promotion, and organizational structure. By the end of this course, you'll be able to define the importance of a skill strategy and implement one that prepares your organization for the future.
