This is very good and I would recommend it, but it is quite short compared to other Coursera courses that I have paid for. I think they should add more content for the price they are charging.

Rather good course. I would recommend to place more links for selfeducation. Also it would be greate to see more examples of business correspondence and key expressions.
What will I actually learn in this business writing course?
You'll learn how to write clearer, more effective business messages by matching your language, tone, and format to your audience and purpose. It starts with audience awareness and concise wording, then builds into common workplace documents, email, persuasive and negative messages, reports, and writing for visual presentations. You'll apply that through quizzes and short writing tasks, such as drafting a persuasive letter and revising documents for clarity.
Do I need any background before starting this course?
No, you don't need prior business writing experience to start. The course begins with audience, word choice, and clear document structure before moving into email, reports, and revision. If you've done basic writing for work or school, that context will help, but the course doesn't assume specialized training.
Is this course beginner-friendly for business writing?
Yes, it's beginner-friendly if you want to become more deliberate and professional in how you write. It begins with fundamentals like clarity, brevity, audience, and common message formats, then moves into email, persuasive writing, and report writing. If you need highly specialized industry writing, this course may feel broader and more general.
How long does it take to complete this course?
You can expect about 7 hours of work in total. It's short enough to move through quickly, while still giving you time to absorb the material and apply it. The course includes readings, lessons, quizzes, and writing activities, so the workload stays varied.
Are there hands-on exercises or projects in this course?
Yes, but the hands-on work is guided writing practice rather than a large project or lab. You'll complete quizzes and short activities that ask you to apply tone, clarity, and message strategy in realistic situations, such as drafting a persuasive welcome letter or shaping a message around a supply chain issue. That format helps you practice each skill as you learn it.
What skills and topics are covered in this course?
The course focuses on writing clearly for a specific audience, choosing the right format, and using an appropriate tone. You'll also work on grammar, punctuation, spelling, sentence and paragraph structure, and the review process of revising, editing, and proofreading. Together, those skills support stronger everyday business communication, from emails and memos to reports and visual presentations.
What can I actually do after finishing this course?
You should be able to draft and improve common business documents with more clarity and purpose. That includes writing a professional email, organizing a business report, or choosing a more effective approach for a positive, negative, or persuasive message. You should also be able to revise, edit, and proofread your work more systematically before sending it.
Is this course more focused on theory or hands-on learning?
It's more concept-first with short applied practice than project-heavy. Most of the learning comes through readings and lessons on audience, tone, grammar, and document strategy, followed by quizzes and writing activities that reinforce the ideas.
Why would I choose this course over other business writing courses?
This course is a strong choice if you want business writing help that stays close to everyday professional documents. Rather than centering on grammar alone, it connects audience, message type, email etiquette, report writing, and revision in one short course, with applied exercises along the way. If you want a concise beginner course that improves how you write and polish common workplace communication, this course fits well.
